Confluence of bossa nova, Andean folklore, samba, trova, salsa, bolero and other forms of jazz-complexioned, folklore-funk acoustics, Ottawa-based TROPICANTOS is a collective garden of deep, earthen, sun-kissed sounds.
Building on its critically acclaimed shows in April and November, 2009, and April, 2010, Colectivo TROPICANTOS will perform at Jean Pigott Hall (Ottawa City Hall), Sunday, August 14, 2011, as a part of an exciting new event in Canada’s Capital: Latin American Heritage Day (a vast array of activities, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.).

Silvio Módolo on piano, bass, cavaquinho and vocals,
Leonardo Constant on guitar, vocals and percussion),

Guatemalan singer-songwriter-poet-activist TITO MEDINA,
